Common side effects of hormone replacement. Most side effects with hormone replacement go away on their own as your own body adapts to fluctuating hormone levels. If homeostasis in balance persist beyond four to six weeks or is severe let your physician immediately. There are adjustments that can be made to counteract severe side effects and reduce issues. Thyroid: sweating, hot, headache, anxiety, shaky, dizziness, heart palpitations. And frequently patients feel chest pressure that they misinterpret as a heart problem. If you experience chest pain or pressure called your prescribing physician before going to InstaCare as it may just need a lower dosage.

Testosterone in men: cause acne, nipple sensitivity, testicular atrophy, decreased sperm count, water retention. Call if you develop severe acne or severe breast tenderness.

Testosterone in women: oily skin, acne, water retention, rare abnormal hair growth. Call if you develop severe acne, abnormal hair growth, or water retention that persist beyond four weeks.

Estrogen in women: breast tenderness, spotting, vaginal bleeding, water retention, mood swings. Call us if you have any vaginal bleeding.

Progesterone in women: difficulty waking up in morning, lethargic, water retention, irregular menstrual cycle, spotting. If you feel too sedated in the mornings split dosage or take progesterone one to two hours prior to bed. If you continue to feel lethargic and morning give us a call. If your menstrual cycles become erratic; more frequent, irregular bleeding, or spotting discontinue the progesterone on days one through three of your cycle and or double your dosage of progesterone at bedtime.
