GLP-1, done the way a hormone clinic does it.

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are real tools. But prescribed alone, without the hormone, nutrition, and monitoring infrastructure around them, most patients lose muscle, plateau, and feel worse than they started. We do it differently. And we'd argue, the way it should be done.
The problem nobody mentions

GLP-1 alone is half a protocol.

Twenty-six to forty percent of the weight people lose on a GLP-1 in isolation comes from lean muscle, not fat. That's metabolism you don't get back. A protocol that ignores this leaves the patient worse off than it found them: lighter on the scale, depleted in the mirror, and more likely to regain the weight the moment the medication stops.
This is the gap. It's also the reason a hormone clinic is the right place for this medication, not a weight-loss-only clinic, and not a primary care provider writing a script in fifteen minutes.
On GLP-1 alone

26-40%

Of total weight lost comes from lean muscle, not fat.
With hormone optimization paired in

+33%

More weight loss on semaglutide + HRT vs. semaglutide alone. Menopause journal, 2024.
Two ways to do this

The GLP-1-only clinic, vs. the hormone-first clinic.

The GLP-1-only clinic

Quick scripts. Scale weight. No infrastructure.

Brief intake. Basic labs. Prescription handed over within a visit or two.
Scale weight tracked. Body composition not measured.
Hormones not assessed. Underlying drivers of weight gain go unaddressed.
Per-visit fees. Often a medication markup. Refills are the business model.
Limited messaging between visits. You're on your own with side effects and plateaus.
No nutrition or strength-training framework to protect lean mass.
What happens when you stop the medication isn't part of the plan.
The Revitalize approach

Hormone-first. Body composition-tracked. Built to last.

Comprehensive baseline labs. Full hormone panels. Free testosterone, full thyroid, metabolic markers.
DEXA body composition at baseline and every six months. Fat mass, lean mass, bone density.
If hormones are part of the picture, BHRT runs in parallel with the GLP-1 protocol, not after.
No medication markup. You take your prescription to the pharmacy and pay the pharmacy directly.
Unlimited messaging between visits. Real provider, real responses, no per-message fees.
Nutrition and strength-training guidance to protect lean mass throughout.
A defined off-ramp. The goal is sustainable composition. Not lifetime dependence on the medication.
What's included

The infrastructure around the prescription.

The medication is the easy part. The reason this works is everything we build around it.

Comprehensive Labs

Hormones, thyroid, metabolic, inflammatory markers, nutrient panels. The set most insurance won't cover and most providers won't order.

DEXA Body Composition

Baseline and every six months. So you can see exactly where weight is coming from. Fat, lean mass, or bone. This is how we know the protocol is working.

90-Minute Intake

Your first appointment is unhurried. We review labs, DEXA, symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. The protocol gets built from real understanding, not a template.

Hormone Optimization

Where indicated. BHRT for women, testosterone optimization for men. Run in parallel with GLP-1 so you keep what matters.

Unlimited Messaging

Side effect? Plateau? Question between visits? Message your provider. No per-message fee. We don't ration access.

Strength + Nutrition

Protein targets, strength training framework, and supplementation guidance to protect lean mass. The reason DEXA shows you're losing fat, not muscle.
We don't profit from your prescription. So our incentive is simply that the protocol works.
The Evidence

Why combining hormones with GLP-1 changes the outcome.

+33%

More weight loss on semaglutide + HRT vs. semaglutide alone.

Hurtado et al., Menopause, 2024. Twelve-month follow-up of postmenopausal women on semaglutide with vs. without concurrent hormone replacement therapy.

17% / 14%

Body weight lost. Tirzepatide + HRT vs. tirzepatide alone.

Castaneda et al., Mayo Clinic, 2025. Postmenopausal women on tirzepatide showed greater total weight loss when concurrent HRT was part of the protocol.

26-40%

Of weight loss on GLP-1 alone comes from lean muscle.

Nature Reviews Endocrinology, 2025. Review of body composition outcomes on GLP-1 receptor agonists without structured resistance training or hormone support.

Feb 2026

FDA removed black box warnings on hormone therapy.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration labeling change. Including warnings related to cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, and dementia. Hormone therapy is now positioned where the evidence has placed it for a decade.
What it costs

A flat membership. No medication markup.

Revitalize is a membership clinic. One annual fee covers your labs, your DEXA scans, your provider visits, your messaging, and any protocol adjustments your data calls for. No per-visit fees. No surprise charges.
We don't sell the GLP-1 medication. You take your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice and pay the pharmacy directly. This is deliberate. It means our incentive is your outcome, not your refill.
When patients compare the all-in cost to a per-visit weight loss clinic with medication markup, the math usually surprises them. Especially over the first year.
Is this the right fit?

Who this program is built for.

A good fit if you
Have tried clean eating, exercise, and accountability, and still aren't getting results
Are in midlife and suspect hormones may be part of the picture
Have lost weight before but regained it, and want a different approach
Want comprehensive care, not just a prescription
Care about body composition, not just scale weight
Are willing to be tracked and to participate in the protocol
Probably not a fit if you
Are looking for a fast prescription without the comprehensive workup
Want a clinic to handle weight loss in isolation from broader health
Aren't interested in DEXA tracking, lab work, or progress checkpoints
Want insurance to pay (we're out of network on purpose)
Common Questions

What patients want to know first.

How is this different from a weight loss clinic or getting GLP-1 from my GP?
We combine GLP-1 therapy with full hormone optimization, DEXA body composition tracking, and functional medicine oversight. Not just a prescription. The infrastructure around the medication is what protects muscle, addresses the actual drivers of weight gain, and makes results last.
Will I have to keep taking GLP-1 medications forever?
Our goal is sustainable outcomes, not long-term dependency. Many patients are able to transition off GLP-1 medications once hormones are balanced, metabolic function improves, and lifestyle infrastructure is in place. The off-ramp is part of the plan, not an afterthought.
How quickly will I see results?
Most patients notice changes within the first 4 to 8 weeks. Weight loss is typically visible within 30 days. Hormone-related symptom relief, like sleep and energy, often within 2 to 6 weeks. Body composition changes show meaningfully on DEXA at 90 days.
Is GLP-1 safe long term?
The medications are well-studied for cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes. The bigger concerns we monitor are lean mass loss, nutritional adequacy, and how the body responds when the medication is reduced or stopped. Which is exactly why DEXA and labs run continuously through your protocol.
Do you offer this via telehealth?
We're a full in-person clinic in Sandy, Utah. The DEXA scan, baseline labs, and the depth of the intake all happen in person. Some follow-ups can happen by video once you're established, but the program isn't built for remote-only.
Does insurance cover this?
We're a fee-for-service clinic, out of network on purpose. That's what lets us run the labs and the depth of care insurance wouldn't approve. The GLP-1 medication itself may be covered by your insurance depending on your plan and indication. We help you navigate that.
